Our Instructors

Disha Gupta (she /her)

I stumbled upon hatha yoga in 2008 at an ashram near my home in Jaipur (India) as an accessible way to stay fit. However, it didn’t take me long to recognize its holistic impact on my emotional, mental and spiritual well being. Ever since, practicing yoga has become an integral part of my life. I am a RYT-500 Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. I did a 200 hour training with Barefoot Yoga (Oakland) in 2019, and a 300 hour training with Mark Stephens in 2023. I continue to attend workshops and read books to deepen my knowledge, but the deepest lessons often come through reflection and self-inquiry. I typically teach what I like to call “mindful flows” with OYB. These classes are a sweet spot between power vinyasa and restorative. You will feel challenged and supported at the same time. I use slow starts and a non-rushing mindset to make the sequences more accessible. This approach prepares the mind, muscles and joints for not just an easeful transition into seemingly peak poses but also finding new depths.

12pm Mondays (60min)

Laura Moir (she/her)

A devotee and lifelong student of yoga, Laura's journey into the practice began in 1999 and quickly became her sanctuary, a profound means of healing from trauma. Hailing from Oakland where she was born and raised, following a 30-year career in event management that left her burnt out and overwhelmed, Laura made the decision in 2021 to embark on a new path—one that aligned with her deepest passions and offered true fulfillment—and set out to become a yoga teacher.

As a teacher, Laura's approach is imbued with an intention of healing and recovery, her message rooted in love, and her mission centered on creating a safe and inclusive space for all individuals, regardless of ability or background. Forever grateful for and driven by the profound impact the practice has on her transformative journey, Laura is dedicated to sharing its gifts with others, guiding them on their own paths toward healing, growth, and self-discovery,

Hye Lee (she/her)

Hye (she/her, pronounced "hae") is originally from South Korea and moved to the US in 2011 to pursue her master's degree in business. She discovered yoga in South Korea as a form of exercise, but it became a crucial part of her life after moving to San Francisco in 2013 and starting her tech career, where she needed a way to decompress and stay grounded. Recently, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Green Yogi in Berkeley. For Hye, yoga is a source of peace and rejuvenation. As a new teacher, she aims to create classes where people can remember to breathe and build a positive relationship with their bodies.

12pm Wednesdays (60min)

Karen Ting (she/her)

A lover of movement whether it is boogieing in the grocery aisles, dance floor or on the yoga mat. Creating different shapes with my body has and continues to be one of the things that I treasure most in life. Being in spaces watching and helping others find shapes has only intensified this love. I’m a 200hr trained vinyasa teacher that believes the only things you need to “do” yoga is the willingness to explore and the willingness to be kind to yourself. Everything else will find its place. When I’m not bouncing to a tune or teaching yoga, you can catch me somewhere belting out an old school R&B song, fawning over my 2 pups, loving up on some good coffee, drawing on things. Join me for a gentle and thoughtful Vinyasa Flow on Tuesdays. Disclaimer: I cannot promise there won’t be a lame joke or two but do expect some dance breaks during class!!

12pm Thursdays (60min)

Lincoln Adler (he/him)

Living the dual life of yoga teacher and musician has inspired me to combine the lyrical and rhythmic aspects of music with the breathing and body movements of my yoga students. I love the teaching process, and strive to help my students find peace, strength and harmony in their practices. My classes are a slow flow friendly for all ages and levels.

12pm Fridays (60min)

Sunset Fern (they/them)

Sunset lives in Oakland and enjoys being outdoors. They began practicing yoga to manage chronic pain and regularly practiced outside. Sunset’s interest in teaching outdoor yoga led them to complete their teacher training at Hot Spot Yoga Oakland.

They find that outdoor yoga provides peace of mind and a deep appreciation of nature. Their aim is to create classes that are equitable, intentional, and fun. Students will be offered a focus on alignment, breath work, and creative variations for postures. Catch you out there! :)

Eleanor first experienced yoga in elementary school while doing sun salutations in dance class. She rediscovered the practice and philosophy of yoga 10 years ago and it has transformed the way she moves through the world. Eleanorsees how yoga helps people connect with their inner self while also connecting to the energy that unites us all. Her classes weave breathwork, dynamic movement, and mindfulness to offer students a chance to tune in and develop skills to take with them beyond the mat.

She recently completed a workshop through Accessible Yoga School focused on Neurodiversity, Mental Health, and Yoga, and is currently completing a 40-hour training in Accessible Yoga, focused on dismantling the interwoven barriers to access and how to ensure that yoga is available to all beings who wish to benefit from its teachings.

I’ve been teaching since 2012 and practicing for more than 20 years. I absolutely love sharing, teaching, practicing yoga anywhere, all the time. I’m looking forward to connecting with the Berkeley community.
